The Institute boasts a longstanding cultural tradition that has played a fundamental role for the city as it has trained primary school teachers and now sets the cultural bases through the two courses of the humanities and sciences high school. social, for the social professions: nurses, physiotherapists, pediatric nurses, assistants, socio-cultural operators in volunteering. The catchment area insists on the entire province characterized by archaeological, historical, artistic and cultural aspects in the agricultural rather than the industrial sector. The vocation of the territory is in fact tourist-cultural, especially in respect of the large neighboring centers. Fundamental is then to improve the mastery of foreign languages taught in the school (English, French and Spanish), also for teachers.
In fact, the Institute’s priority objective is to continue offering young people the opportunity to gain experience in languages other than conveying them in well-known and new contexts. Improving the linguistic competence of teachers therefore has already been translated into the implementation of teaching through e-Twinning but needs further development for all staff. The Institute has already been active through the Comenius projectuality, three Comenius assistants in internationalization activities and is ready to continue a close relationship with Europe through the various actions of the Erasmus + Program.
In addition, the Institute has been home to the Liceo Musicale for two years, for which the need to establish European contacts in the musical field becomes even more fundamental.
